To research what our target audience would like to see in our music promo we decided to ask a focus group of people potentially in our target audience some questions that can help us create a music video that is appropriate to our target demographic.
First we asked if they would like to see a video with narrative, performance or both. The unanimous favourite was both with all six members of the group choosing that. I think that both was more popular as it means the target audience can see their favourite artists performing and they can also have a narrative that they can relate to.
After we had told the group our idea to combine a performance with a narrative of the breakdown of a relationship we created a poll on Poll Everywhere and got the group to text in their feedback which you can see above. They all agreed that the idea was a good one and that it would be a promo that they would want to view.
